The Comfort of Left Luggage
14 Aug

Found out this facility when I read the Lonely Planet app while we’re travelling in Kuala Lumpur.
Left Luggage is somekind of bag storage or luggage office for the travellers who need short-term storage solutions. Left luggage are often found in airport and bus/ train station where we can leave padlocked luggage. Left luggage can be a staffed left luggage counter or simply a coin operated or automated locker system.
In Kuala Lumpur, we can found this facility in KL Sentral, Puduraya Bus Station, LCCT, and KLIA.
I had the chance to try the one on KL Sentral where our train to Singapore leave at night. It was located on upper floor, right left from the escalator and near the Air Asia office. It open from 7.30 am – 10 pm. Perfect time for us.
We decided to try this left luggage as we had to check out from the hotel early in the morning, while the train leave at night. Though we only bring a backpak, using this left luggage was surely save us much energy and made us more mobile. It’s totally recommended with several notes to notice as followed :
- Left luggage is reasonably secure but it will be wiser if you carried any important valuables or important documentsĀ with you
- Be sure to check the opening and closing times.
- Confirm the duration of storage since there’s usually no compensation or refund for early collection of luggage.
- Due to security reason, sometimes the luggage is subject to inspection and/or X-ray.
- All luggage is subject to the airport rules and regulations.
- Insist on receipt upon payment. Term payment is usually in Cash Only.
- Unclaimed luggages (Baggage not collected for more than 3 months from the agreed collection date) will be disposed off without any further notice or compensation.
- Penalty will be charged on any lost key (if we use theĀ coin operated or automated locker system)
- Loss of storage receipt will be fined. Proof identity acceptable (usually a Passport) will be required to take the luggage back.
Unfortunately, with higher threats of terrorism all around the globe, this type of public storage is beginning to disappear. Not sure when this will be still available

Great story. We all know that this stuff happens, especially accidental damage. Great that they were willing to take it seriously and get involved with the customer.
This is cool!
Easier for us to explore the city…
Aku bbrp kali ke KL koq malah baru tau fasilitas ini ya…
Thanks for sharing it Ris
