The Comfort of Left Luggage

14 Aug

Found out this facility when I read the Lonely Planet app while we’re travelling in Kuala Lumpur.

Left Luggage is somekind of bag storage or luggage office for the travellers who need short-term storage solutions. Left luggage are often found in airport and bus/ train station where we can leave padlocked luggage. Left luggage can be a staffed left luggage counter or simply a coin operated or automated locker system.

In Kuala Lumpur, we can found this facility in KL Sentral, Puduraya Bus Station, LCCT, and KLIA.

I had the chance to try the one on KL Sentral where our train to Singapore leave at night. It was located on upper floor, right left from the escalator and near the Air Asia office. It open from 7.30 am – 10 pm. Perfect time for us.

We decided to try this left luggage as we had to check out from the hotel early in the morning, while the train leave at night. Though we only bring a backpak, using this left luggage was surely save us much energy and made us more mobile. It’s totally recommended with several notes to notice as followed : (more…)

7 Apr

Inside the Kuan Yin Monastery

Located about 15 km from Sungailiat, Bangka – Sumatera, Kuan Yin Monastery was built in February 2003 by its curator, Mr. Hermanto Wijaya, for the Buddhists performing their religious service.

Legend has it that if we bath or drink the well water of Kuan Yin monastery, we will be ageless. It is also believed that the water could cure diseases.

At least, that’s one of the reasons why the Indonesian famous actress, Titik Puspa, actively come and drink the water. The curator jokingly mentioned that Titik Puspa is more famous and important rather than the Indonesian vice president.

Just take a look at the photo below and you’ll understand why he said that :) (more…)

Lampion Garden at BNS, Malang

Unlike Jakarta that never sleeps; Malang after dawn is getting less active. There weren’t much things or places to do during the night in Malang. That’s why I was excited to see how this night attraction looks like.

Founded in 2009, BNS or Batu Night Spectacular is an amusement park in Batu highlands which located approximately 30 km from Malang. As self-explanatory as the name, this park is only open during the night from 3 pm until 2 am.

It’s cold here, so be sure you wear your jacket when you visit it.

The ‘real’ name of this beach is actually Maya Bay, but people used to call it as Leonardo Dicaprio Beach after “The Beach” was filmed here in 1999. Based on a book, there are actually 47 museum in Jakarta and by the time I read that book, I had only visited one museum!
